He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hoffmann and Margaret Hoffmann. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Banegas Hoffmann; his siblings, Carolyn Lawler (Lee) of Rome, Georgia, Bill Hoffmann of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Michael Hoffmann (Cindy) of Winchester and Paul Hoffmann; and his sisters-in-law, Diana Banegas Hedrick of Laurel and Mimi Banegas of Cape Coral, Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the memory of Richard B. Hoffmann to Randolph Macon College, Men's Basketball, P.O. Box 5005, Ashland, VA 23005 or to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport Ave, Norfolk, VA 23505.
