He was predeceased by: his father Walter Peery Rutherford; his brothers, King Charles Rutherford and Jim William Rutherford; and his niece Talina Rose Abel. He is survived by: his mother Rita Rutherford Boothe; and his siblings, Viola Montalghe Bennett (Frank) of North Tazewell, VA and Walter Rutherford (Christina) of Decater, Tennessee..

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Open Door Community Church.
