He was predeceased by: his father Gregory Lynn Vanover; his stepfather Irvin Short; his grandparents, H. G., Barbara Vanover, Delbert and Draxie Short; and his cousin Tracy Short Hylton.
He is survived by: his daughter Danielle Vanover; his mother Joan Short; his siblings, Matthew Vanover (Brandi) and Miriam Vanover; his nephews, David Paul Vanover, Brody Vanover, Levi Vanover and Cecan Vanover; his niece Layla Woodworth; his uncles, Danny (Jackie Short), Carl (Madonna Kennedy) and Johnny Vanover (Carmelita Sellers); his aunt Tina (James Rose); and his pet Daisy. He is also survived by several cousins; a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel (11316 Riverside Dr, Pound, VA 24279). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Baker Funeral Home to go toward funeral expenses.
