He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley E. Hargrave and Mary Lee Poole Hargrave; his sister Barbara Story; and his brother-in-law James Story of Hopewell, Virginia.. He is survived by: his wife Doris B. Hargrave; his children, James S. Hargrave (Tammy), Brenda Terry (Robert) and Kenneth J. Hargrave (Tammie); his grandchildren, Star Sexton (Billy), Robi Armstrong (Lloyd III), Samantha Jones, James Aaron Hargrave, Kimberly Slaughter and Kristin Long (Johnny); his great grandchildren, Skyler, Lloyd IV, Robert John, Keagan, Emerie and Amelia; and his nieces, Darlene Merritt (Tom), Wanda Dulaney (Bob) and Tammy Hobeck (Gene). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bellefonte Grange (2117 Rocky Hill Rd, Blackstone, VA 23824).
