Arvil Ray Ratliff Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arvil Ray Ratliff of Oakwood, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 13, 2025 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ratliff and Edgar Mae Horn Ratliff; his wife Zella Lois Williamson Ratliff; his siblings, Carol Sue Howington, Arnold Ratliff (Gail) and Buford Ratliff; his parents-in-law, Turl Williamson and Rosy Adkins Williamson; and his siblings-in-law, Frank K. Williamson (Loretta), Kermit Williamson (Gay), Marvin "Monk" Williamson, James Mosalee Williamson, Ersel Williamson (Verda), Basil Matney, Rages Matney, Ronnie Parks, Ruth Rowe (Kelly) and Goldie Mullins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Felecia Abdelfattah (Shamly) of Bristol, VA, Tina Compton (David) of Grundy, VA and Stephanie Branham (Joe) of Bristol, VA; his sisters, Marie Matney of Richlands, VA, Phyllis Matney of Oakwood, VA, Martha Lambert of Richlands, VA, Jan White (Jerry) of Richlands, VA and Doris Parks of Grundy, VA.; his grandchildren, Bridgett Pack (Terry Jay), Samir Abdelfattah (Katy), Ben Compton, Jonathan Compton, Joseph Tyler Branham and Connor Branham; and his great grandchildren, Lexi Vencill, Hunter Hale, Aiden Pack and Clover Abdelfattah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Shortridge Ramey Funeral Home of Oakwood (1020 Big Skeggs Road, Oakwood, VA 24631). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home (1020 Big Skeggs Road, Oakwood, VA 24631).
