With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ira Steven Skees of Onancock, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 4, 2025 at the age of 71. Though Ira may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Ira touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Elmer Skees and Shirley Juanita Skees. He is survived by: his children, Avery C. Skees (Darcie) of Virginia Beach, VA and Dustin L. Skees (Emily) of Virginia Beach, VA; his brothers, Kenneth B. Skees (Chrissie) of Norfolk, VA and Mark C. Skees (Rosemary) of Norfolk, VA; his grandchildren, Everett H. Skees and Cohen L. Skees; and his former wife Patricia. He is also survived by two nieces; three nephews; one great-niece; two great-nephews; and a host of extended family.
