He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Edwin Sims and Louise Virginia Brooks of Orange, Virginia.; and his aunt Elsie Goodloe Carruthers. He is survived by: his daughter Caitlin Somerset Sims (Matthew); his wife Terran Warren Sims; his daughter Catherine Carter Sims Davis (Brian) of Palm Beach, FL; his siblings, Ward Sims (Sallie) of Charlottesville, VA and Jean Sims Callier of Charlottesville, VA; his stepsister Meg Twohey (Darrow Lebovici) of Salem, MA; and his nieces, Kathryn Sims Cross, Elizabeth Sims Bunn and Susan Sims Veerhoff.
