With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hugh Lee Darnell of Orange, Virginia, who passed away on May 12, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lee Darnell, Jr. and Myrie Rosser Darnell; and his sister Doris Jones. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Brooks Darnell; his children, Sharon Darnell Carpenter (Michael) and Bradford Lee Darnell (Jamee); his grandchildren, Elaine Trotman, Alyssa Blackstock (E. W.), Tyler Darnell (Ashley), Erin Darnell (Jeff), Zachary Hearn (Victoria) and Anthony Hearn; his great grandchildren, J. W., Ireson, Emma, Paxton, Grace, Vera Grace, Rinn and Carter Lee; and his nephews, Drew Coppa and Gary Coppa (Robin).
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Graham Cemetery (14191 Constitution Hwy, Orange, VA 22960).
