He is survived by: his stepfather Danridge Fairchild; his children, Vincent Garner of New Haven, CT., Brian Colburn of New Haven, CT. and Shelia Staples of Fredericksburg, VA.; his sisters, Betty Pierce of Spotsylvania, VA., Evelyn Brown of Fredericksburg, VA., Laura, Carrie Tallie (Jimmy) of Spotsylvania, VA., Bernice Fairchild Lawson (William) of Locust Grove, VA. and Rosa Fairchild of Fredericksburg, VA.; his siblings-in-law, Lucille Carter Lewis, Joanne Lewis and Melvin Smith of Spotsylvania, VA.; his wife Margaret Lewis; his children, Rosalind Lewis, Franklin Lewis and Kevin Lewis; his siblings, Russell, Sam, Joe, Paul Lewis and Perlene Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Pierce, Milton Brown, Martha Lewis and Pat Lewis. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
