She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Jack" Clifton Burton and Adele Melton Burton; her husband Gordon I. Johnson; her son-in-law Steve Shifflett; her siblings, Cye D. Burton, Orene B. Coffman and Chris B. Wright; and her brothers-in-law, Mack Coffman, Paul Wright and Dennis Emerson.

She is survived by: her children, Teresa Kay Johnson Shifflett of Unionville, Michael L. Johnson (Lois) of Gordonsville and Richard W. Johnson of Zion Crossroads; her grandchildren, Heather Johnson Tidwell, Christopher Johnson, Chap Johnson, Jenny Hall, John Shifflett, Ben Shifflett, Zachary Johnson, Chad Lawson and Travis Lawson; her siblings, John F. Burton of Orange and Bonnie B. Emerson of Gloucester; and her siblings-in-law, Elwood Johnson (Pat) of Charlottesville and June Johnson of Gordonsville. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren.
