We are sad to announce that on May 1, 2026, at the age of 63, Scott Sample (Painter, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Obediah Sample and Marian Sample. He is survived by: his wife Lasonya Malone Sample; his children, Lamont Beckett, Sharnetta Taylor (Vandell), Setina Anthony (Stephen), Norman Malone (Janiya) and Laniya Malone; his grandchildren, Aiyana, Ariyah, Norman Jr. and Noah; his siblings, Darrell Sample, Donna Sample Smith and Greta Sample; his brothers-in-law, James Beckett and Noris Malone; and his godson MJ. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the New Mt. Olive Baptist Church (13444 Hacksneck Rd, Painter, VA 23420). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at 32170 Seaside Rd, Melfa, VA 23401.
