He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Winn Sclater and Pearle W. Sclater of Palmyra, VA. He is survived by: his wife Shirley L. Sclater; his children, Wayne M. Sclater (Cheryl) and Wanda S. Brown (Dave); and his grandchildren, Amanda Richmond, Angela Voelcker (TJ), Shelly Verongstraete (Rudie) and Michael Sclater. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bliley's Funeral Home (8510 Staples Mill Rd, Richmond, VA 23228). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church (227 Bethel Church Rd, Palmyra, VA 22963).
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the Ashland Rescue Squad or Bethel Baptist Church.
