She was predeceased by: her husband John Wilson Hix; her parents, Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Moon Oliver and Rueben Hutton Oliver; her daughter Janet Hix Scott; her siblings, Elizabeth Oliver, Sue Rae Thompson, Glenna Hix, Russell, John, Tom and Paul Oliver; her siblings-in-law, William Hix, Tom Hix, John Thompson, Mildred Hix, Kathy Hix, Elizabeth Oliver, Ellen Oliver, Erma Oliver and Christine Oliver; her nephew Russ Oliver; and her niece Julie Hix.
She is survived by: her sons, David (Janet Hix), Tom (Vicki Hix) and Jim (Sharon Hix); her son-in-law Porter Scott (Patty); her grandchildren, Thomas Scott (Jackie), John Hardwood Scott (Brittney), Olivia Hix, Kate Hix, Baylor Hix, Clinton Robertson, Karie Robertson Williams (Trey), Austin Robertson, G. W. Reynolds (Debbie) and Brian Page (Shana); her great grandchildren, Charlie, June, John, James, Joseph, Luke, Levi, Easton, Oaklee and Harper; her brother-in-law Harwood Hix; her nieces, Jane Hix, Cynthia Smith (Nathan) and Mary Beth Rolfe (Dan); her nephew Danny Hix (Debbie); and her caregivers, Tamika, Jennifer, Bessie, Jackie, Lilly and Charlene.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Elon Baptist Church (137 Church St, Pamplin, VA 23958).
