He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Smith and Raymond Alexander Hatcher Sr.; his sisters, Nancy H. Pedigo, Linda H. Guill and Dorothy H. Frances; and his grandson Caleb Purcell.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Singer Hatcher; his children, Sheila Schaefer, Angela Shupe (Mike), Shirl Milton (Gary), Shannon Maddox (Mike), Shaunna Brown (Ben), Mandy McCraw (Nathan) and Dwayne Ferguson; his brother Walter Hatcher (Faye); and his siblings-in-law, Denise Wood, Monica Dudovitz and Stephen Singer. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (667 Court St, Appomattox, VA 24522). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
