He is survived by: his children, Jane Hix of Lynchburg, Danny Hix (Debbie) of Hixburg, Cynthia Smith (Nathan) of Appomattox and Mary Beth Rolfe (Dan) of Weyers Cave; his grandchildren, Will Hix (Lindsey), Tom Smith, Phillip Smith, Hailey Crouse, Holden Crouse, Stephanie Tyree, Samantha Stratton (John) and Susan Tyree; his great grandchildren, Walker Smith, Anniston Hix, Sawyer Hix, Arabella, Colter and Emersyn Stratton; his brother Harwood Hix of Georgia; his sister-in-law Florence Hix of Hixburg; and his caregivers, Lakeisha, Bessie, Amy, Jennifer and William.
