She was predeceased by: her parents, William Edward Smith and Ella Mae Lankford Smith of Makemie Park; her husband Herbert Hoover Bowden, Sr. of Chincoteague; her son Herbert Hoover Bowden, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Angela McCready Bowden; her grandson Joshua Aaron Bowden; her son-in-law Ronnie Eugene Horsman; her siblings, Fairy McGee, Edward Randolph Smith, Edward William Smith and Charlie Franklin Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Shirley Smith, Betty Smith, Sue Smith and Nelson McGee.
She is survived by: her daughters, Darlene Jane Citro (Santino) of Oak Hall and Karen Lee Bowden Banks (Rodney) of Atlantic; her siblings, Evalene Smith Ewell, Richard William Smith of Princess Anne and Marvin Jerome Smith of Snow Hill; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bowden Pack (Don), Jason Allen Bowden (Nicole), Jonathan Adam Bowden (Angie), Joseph Andrew Bowden, Victoria Lynn Citro (Rae), Jacqueline Lee Citro, Jacob Daniel Horsman, Sheena Lynn Horsman, Anna Hope Horsman and Jessica Keller; her great grandchildren, Noah Israel Pack, Camryn Gabrielle Bowden, Kirsten Brielle Bowden, Damienn Santino Anthony Citro, Abbygail Lynn Phillips, Nyla Jane Hinmon and Amy Lynn Smack; and her great great grandchild Zariah Noel Bowden. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gloria Lee Smith Bowden, 89, of New Church, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by her family and her beloved cat, Sonny, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.
