He was predeceased by: his son Ryan Wood. He is survived by: his wife Heather Wood; his children, Misty Andersen (Scott), Patricia Jackson (Chris), Phil Wood Jr. (Amy) and Brandon Wood (Margaret); his stepchildren, Alyx Strange (Sean), Andrea Apperson (Jordan) and Justin Hockaday; and his siblings, Donna Pritchett, Beth Spillman, Cheryl Thomas and Harold Wood. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bowling Green. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM. A burial was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at the Confederate Cemetery (7100 Confederate Cemetery Dr, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA 22553).
