He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Bishop and Lillie Flippen Bishop; his wife Anna Carter Bishop; his stepchildren, Ophus Hall, Larry Fulcher and Regina Fulcher; and his siblings, John, Jim, Turner, Bob Bishop, Mary Pike, Bertha George, Beatrice Norman, Lowry Ester and Mable Ivonetti.
He is survived by: his son Carl V. "Butch" Jr. (Barbara F. Bishop); his stepdaughter Mary Ann Pritt; and his granddaughters, Angela Espinoza and Jennifer Murphy. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
