He was predeceased by: his parents, Caney Martin and Dorothy Rakes Martin; his wife Lula Ware Handy Martin; his grandson Parker Martin; and his siblings, Leon Martin and Loriene Martin.
He is survived by: his son Roger Martin (Monica) of Walnut Cove, NC; his grandsons, Austin Martin (Sarah) and Tyler Hazelwood; his great grandchildren, Aina Martin and Rena Martin; his aunt Frances Martin; and his caregiver Sue Pack. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (202 W Blue Ridge St, Stuart, VA 24171). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
