She was predeceased by: her parents, James Raleigh Belle and Glenna Belle; her husband Jonnie Hughes Gilley; and her sister Sandra Kendrick. She is survived by: her sons, Johnnie Lee Gilley (Terry) and Stacy Glenn Gilley (Terina); her sisters, Dana Livengood (C. W.) and Joan Montgomery; her grandchildren, Joseph Gilley, Brittany Gilley-Varipapa (Nicholas), Emaleigh Singletary (Daniel) and Johnnie Ian Gilley; her great grandchildren, Dylan Gilley and Asa Singletary; and her close friend James Nester. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Salem Church, 159 Salem Church Road, Patrick Springs, Virginia, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Garvin's memory.
