He was predeceased by: his father Harrison George Deal; his daughters, Debra Gunter and Melissa Deal; and his siblings, Bertha Mize, Rosie Craig, Hattie Belle Witt, Vera Gilley, Jessie Deal, Robert Deal, David Deal, Joe Deal, Daniel Deal and Henry Deal.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Deal; his children, Sam Deal, Jr. (Jerrie), Matthew Deal (Melissa), Ann Huff (Mike), Sarah McBride (Ricky) and Sharan Bowman; his son-in-law Phillip Gunter; and his sister Hazel Gilley. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; several great -great -grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
