She is survived by: her son Hunter Wright (Rachel Goode); the father of her child Darrell Wright; her granddaughter Avery; her mother Frances Melvin Hale; her sister Christina Selfe; her uncle Curtis; and her aunt Linda Melvin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Heather's honor to the "City of Refuge," 249 Dora Highway, Pulaski, VA 24301.
