She was predeceased by: her parents, Randolph Brown and Blanche Brooks Brown; her husband David Sutherland; her siblings, Maxene Dickerson and Donald Brown; her brother-in-law Wayne Motley; and her former husband William Forrest Brown.
She is survived by: her son William Bobby Brown (Stephanie); and her sister Dotsie Motley. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Flora Funeral Service (665 S Main St, Rocky Mount, VA 24151). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at the Book Hotel Brooks Family Cemetery.
