She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin McKinney and Susie Hughes McKinney; and her siblings, Bobby, Billy H., Frankie, Jimmy McKinney, Bertha Juanita Hammonds, Shirley Ruth Napier, Dessie Tankersley, Susan Reimers, Burnett Mullins, Helen McKinney and Mary Ida Collins.
She is survived by: her husband Herman Carl Shell; her daughters, Christie Lee Shell of Baltimore, MD, Lisa Ann Shell of Baltimore, MD and Doris Shanahan (David) of New Freedom, PA; and her great-nephew Raymond Thomas Godwin III. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mullins - Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
