He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Vanzant (Cooper) and Eli "Tump" Vanzant; and his siblings, Thelma Vanzant, Gerald of Earl, J. R, Ron, Sam Vanzant and Jean Metcalf (Vanzant).
He is survived by: his wife Janice Vanzant (Marcum); his daughters, Carla Hedrick (Travis), Michelle Honeycutt (Tony) and Amy Vanzant; his grandchildren, Shanna Pennington (Autumn), Nicholas Honeycutt, Sara Sanders (Storm), Kadie Reuille (Hagan), Heath Honeycutt, Justin Reuille and Gracie Hedrick; his great grandchildren, Sammy, Sienna Sanders and Abel; and his brother Nelson.
A procession will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at the Lee Memorial Gardens (1986 Hickory Cir Rd, Pennington Gap, VA 24277).
