It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Franklin Phillips of Pennington Gap, Virginia, who passed away on April 27, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his siblings, Richard Shirks, Paul Shirks, David Shirks, Gary Shirks, William Howard Stapleton, Helen Middleton, Margaret Green and Nancy Byrd; and his daughter Ashley Phillips.
He is survived by : his wife Tracy Phillips; his children, Kenneth Phillips (Crystal), Melissa Webb (Christopher), Tiffany Phillips and Cameron Lawson; and his grandchildren, Alyiah Phillips, Ashton Phillips, Austin Johnson, Kinzi Johnson, Madison Phillips and Samantha Phillips. He is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A procession was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lee Memorial Gardens (1986 Hickory Cir Rd, Pennington Gap, VA 24277).
