We announce the death of Wilma Jean (Pennington Gap, Virginia), who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 97. Wilma will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Cluesman and Virgie Jessee Cluesman; her husband Dunn Pennington; her siblings, Edgar Cluesman and Reba Owens; her sons, Billy Merve Pennington and Ricky Pennington; and her grandson Charles Dennis Pennington.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Dunn Pennington (Helen), Michael John Pennington (Sylvia), Alena Ann Garrison (Gary) and Denise Lynn Burgin (Eric); her daughters-in-law, Liz Pennington and Peggy Pennington; her daughter Omia Salyers (Tony); and her grandchildren, Johnathon, Beverly, Angie, Audrea, Adam, Aaron, Brian, Ashley, Melissa, Summer, Gary-Joshua, Derick and Ericka. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
