He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Wakefield and Marie Wakefield; his siblings, Jeanetta Wakefield, Helen Manning Coleman, George Wakefield and Benjamin Wakefield; and his sons, Keith Wakefield and Alvin Wakefield.
He is survived by: his wife Annie D. Wakefield; his stepsons, Mayo Q. Westbrooks, Jr. of San Pedro and Brandon A. Westbrooks (Nadia) of Spotsylvania, Virginia; his granddaughter Little Emerson Westbrooks; his children, Eric Wakefield (Melissa) of Baltimore, Maryland, Bernard Wakefield of California and Terri Wakefield of Alaska; his grandchildren, Jordan Wakefield, JD Wakefield of Atlanta, Doris Wakefield of Alaska and Alex Wakefield of North Carolina; and his close friend Bishop Gregory Williams. He is also survived by one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
