He was predeceased by: his wife Karen Tyler; his grandparents, Jake, Lizzie Tyler, James and Hester Harris; and his siblings, Keith Bernard Tyler and Bernett Taylor.
He is survived by: his son Terrel Tyler of Hopewell, VA; his parents, Mamie Harris Tyler of Colonial Heights, VA and Jacob Tyler, Jr. of Prince George, VA; his siblings, James Lee Tyler (Erica) of Petersburg, VA, Onell Taylor, Otis C. Taylor, Rico Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Tanika Mayo, Geneva Taylor and Pamela Taylor; his nephews, James "Tony" Ellis, Marcus Tyler and Deven Tyler; and his aunts, Mattlyn Debrick of Prince George, VA, Rose Goines of Waverly, VA and Joann Harris of Hopewell, VA. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803). Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Holiness Church (8645 Rolfe Hwy, Dendron, VA 23839). A burial was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at the St. Paul Holiness Church Cemetery (8645 Rolfe Hwy, Dendron, VA 23839).
