He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Otis Terry and Josephine Beasley Terry; and his sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Kathy Terry. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Bailey Terry; his children, William A. Terry Jr. of Petersburg, Robert O. Terry of Nottoway, Melvin R. Terry of Amelia and Marsha Moates of Florida; and his sisters, Ivy Piper of New York and Barbara Brooks of Chesterfield. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
