With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Nancy Gurtis (Poquoson, Virginia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edward and Dorothy Taylor DeViese. She is survived by: her husband Richard "Dick" Michael Gurtis; her siblings, Mary "Diane" DeViese Cantrill and James "Jim" Richard DeViese; her daughters, Suzanne Gurtis Green, Gigi Gurtis Florin and Amanda Gurtis Davis; her sons-in-law, Henry John Green, Richard Mark Florin and Jeremy Austin Davis; and her grandchildren, Jackson Edward Green, Sara Rose Green, Taylor Grace Florin, Eva Claire Florin, Richard "Reid" Florin, Emery Rose Davis, Owen Gurtis Davis and Oliver Jo Davis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy's name to the Alzheimer's Association to honor her parents, Jim and Dorothy DeViese, whom she selflessly cared for while they battled the devastating disease.
