He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bowers and Lucy Bowers; his siblings, Mary Lois Pendley, Sarah Caroline White, John C. Bowers, Jr., Carl Edward Bowers and Raymond Lee Bowers, Sr.; his grandson Jason Alan Green; and his pet Sparky.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia J. Bowers; his children, Charlene Bowers Yacklon (David) and Richard Coleman "Ricky" Bowers (Lynn); his grandchildren, Shawn Coleman Bowers, Amber Lynn Bowers, Wesley Stivers and Dayce Gordon; and his sibling's children, Gerri Lou Sisler, Amy Turner Machetti and Ronald Alan Turner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Living Waters Christian Fellowship, Gideons International or Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads.
