It is with great sadness that we announce the death of ALVERTA (OVERTON) HARRELL (Portsmouth, Virginia), born in Edenton, North Carolina, who passed away on July 9, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 19th 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the J T Fisher Funeral Services (1248 George Washington Highway North, Chesapeake, Virginia 23323). A repast will be held on Monday, July 19th 2021 from 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the 119 Francis St (119 Francis Street, Portsmouth, Virginia 23702).
Alverta was a faithful witness of Jehovah. She loved to talk, and educate her love ones on the Bible. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends. She worked for Portsmouth Public Schools for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth & Willie Overton, Arthur L. Harrell, William, (Children Robert Harrell, Maxine Harris, Grandchild, Giovanna Harrell
She is survived by her loving son Jerome Harrell
Siblings: Mary Jennings, Pete, George Overton
Grandchildren: Queintin Harrell, Renee Clark, Lashanda Harris, Robert Harrell (Brittney Harrell), Jeanetta Harrell, Jerome Harrell Jr. , Ashley Harrell
