It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Anthony William Joyner (Portsmouth, Virginia), born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Trimble and Audrey Barrett; his brothers, Richard William Trimble (Annie) and Albert Clarence Trimble (Mattie); and his son Santo Antonio Heyward.

He is survived by: his friend Virginia; his children, Tonita Phillips (Bobby), Kimberly Joyner, Kala Threatt (Melanie), Akisha Threatt, Senithia Martin (Dennis), Namtasha Joyner, Jemell Ormond (Lorraine) and Kinshasa Joyner; his sisters, Melody Mitchell Roxboro (James) and N. C.; and his grandchildren, Devin, Khalil, Keenen, Jahni, Jahlen, Micah, McKenzie, Jada, Christian, Christopher, Janae, Jordyn, Ezekiel and Levi. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
