She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Vernon Pearson and Elizabeth Caladith Bracy Pearson; her husband Preston; her sons, Cecil, Dwight and Trammel; and her siblings, Peter Jr., Milton Howard, Nathaniel Solomon, Dorothy Louise, Melvin Leon, Winston Ruton, Gloria Hortense, Norwood Eugene, Phillip, Fleming Jeremiah, Earl Gilbert and Maud Eloise.

She is survived by: her son Preston, Jr.; her grandchildren, Camye Allen (Harvey), Damali, Kamau (Yolanda), Michael, Kyle, Cynthia, Carlton, Christopher, Arnetta, Lemayne, Fatima, Cheryl, Lawrence and Vermell; her cousin Bertha Mae Williams; and her goddaughter Andrea Bernice Pearson. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
