It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice Riddick Lassiter (Portsmouth, Virginia), who passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John L. Morris, Sr. and Queenie Askew; her siblings, Andrew Askew, Sr., John Morris, Jr., Randolph Morris, Helen Parker and Elise White; her son George Riddick; her granddaughter Christina Stokes; and her great grandchild Promise Ja'Lynn Archer.
She is survived by: her children, Wanda Stokes (Milton) of Virginia Beach, Trenice Lassiter of Norfolk, Alex Riddick (Kristi) of Suffolk, John Riddick, Jr. of Amarillo, TX and Austin Lassiter of Norfolk; her daughter-in-law Patricia Riddick of Brandon, FL; and her nieces, Melissa Askew of Norfolk and LaBarbara Willis of Elizabeth City, NC. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
