With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Celester Wright of Portsmouth, Virginia, born in Greenwood, South Carolina, who passed away on June 15, 2022 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gilbert and Marie Gilbert; his godmother Cladie Mae Wideman; and his brother Bruce Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Demetrice L. Wright of Portsmouth, VA; his sons, Celester Wright Jr. and Christopher J. Wright of Portsmouth, VA; his siblings, Elisa Ruth Wright Kennon, Barbara Ann Leach, James Wright (Debra) and Bobby Dion Wright; his aunt Ethel Wright Saxon; and his uncle George Wright. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
