He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. Thompson Sr. and Hazel Daniel Thompson. He is survived by: his son Chris Thompson of Norfolk; and his siblings, Sylvia Sledge (Steven) of Portsmouth, Cheryl Rush (Larry) of Chesapeake, James Thompson Jr. of Portsmouth and Kevin Thompson (Bridgett) of Portsmouth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
