He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Richard F. Wood, Sr. and Dona E. Wood of Portsmouth; and his uncle Donn H. Wood of New York City. He is survived by: his parents, Thomas E. Wood (Jennifer Van Deusen) and Sandra Wood; his stepmother Corinne L. Wood; his brother Michael E. Wood; his son Tyler M. Wood; his sister Jennifer W. Jacovides (Nick); his nieces and nephews, Luke, Dean and Alexander Jacovides; his uncle Richard F. Wood, Jr. (Sandy); and his cousin Richard "Ritchie" F. Wood III.
