With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Marae Phelps (Portsmouth, Virginia), who passed away on October 14, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Janet may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Janet touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Edward Bennett, Jr. and Medolian Rivers Edwards Bennett. She is survived by: her sons, William Robert Phelps, Jr. (Jennifer) of Chesapeake, VA and David Lee Phelps (Ali) of Lithia, FL; her brothers, Oliver Edward Bennett, III (April) and James Allen Bennett (Sandy); and her grandchildren, Majer Wilde, Aubry Ana and Aniah.
