He is survived by: his wife Khadijah Matthis Edmond; his children, Derek Dawson, LaQuisha Turner, Keiatta Garcia (David), Chante Martin, John Turner, VaShawn Matthis (Tichina Freeman), Brianna Matthis and Vinson Edmond; his grandchildren, Naeshaun Dawson, QuaeVon Watkins, Amani Staton, Francez Turner, Kendell Morgan, Camryn Carter, Kevin Barnes Jr., Chase Beale, Niara Turner, Legaci Turner and Zion Matthis; his sisters, Patricia Turner and Carolyn Knox; and his nephews, David Turner and Xavier Knox.
