With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Ann Freeman of Portsmouth, Virginia, born in Ahoskie, North Carolina, who passed away on September 26, 2025 at the age of 61. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pernell Freeman and Beatrice Freeman; and her brothers, Leroy Boone and James Freeman. She is survived by: her daughters, Lakisha Freeman (Tim) of Portsmouth, Virginia and Natasha Freeman of Portsmouth, Virginia; her grandsons, David L. Freeman Sr. (Shaneka) of Suffolk and Louis Freeman (Kwanna) of Portsmouth, Virginia.; her sisters, Beulah Boone of Portsmouth, Virginia, Barbara Freeman of Portsmouth, Virginia and Gloria Artis (Antonio) of Portsmouth, Virginia; her grandson Melvin; her cousins, Deshawn Freeman, Mariah Freeman, Aurelio Rivers Jr., Allen Dockery Jr., Keimond Dockery, Kameron Freeman, Nakayla Crawley, Dyshera Crawley, David L. Freeman Jr. and Shaniyah Ethridge; her stepgranddaughters, Kyra Freeman, Kahliq Claud (Kayden Freeman), Khalid Freeman, Kyren Freeman, Kaliyah Freeman (Louis Jr. Freeman), Kassidy Freeman and Lakiyah Freeman (Kameron Freeman); Anthony Freeman (Trina) of Portsmouth, Virginia.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the T. E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home (405 Johnson Ave, Suffolk, VA 23434). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Crossroads United Methodist Church (180 Rodman Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23707). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at the Lincoln Cemetery.
