She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Leo Holmes; her parents, Joseph Singleton and Versia Singleton; her brothers, Dwayne Singleton (Carolyn) and James Singleton (Perlita); her children, Joseph L. Holmes, Leo Holmes Jr., Frank Holmes (Vangie), Christopher Smead and Viola Jane Smead; and her grandchildren, Lori Smead Rhoads, Leo J. Holmes III, Catherine Rae Holmes, Stephanie Quesenberry, Tanya Schetter and Reanna Holmes. She was also cherished by her thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:25 PM at the Loving Funeral Home Churchland Chapel (3225 Academy Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23703). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
