He was predeceased by: his parents, W. O. Henderson and Lucretia Henderson; his wife Myrtle Leigh Henderson; his son-in-law Darryl Phelps; and his siblings, J. B. and Ruth.
He is survived by: his children, DeeAnn (Jim) and Steve (Alicia); his grandchildren, Steven Henderson (Kelli), Jamey Corbett, Matt Corbett (Kirsten) and Morgan Phelps Timko (Jimmy); and his great grandchildren, Mia Henderson, Preston Corbett, Cayden and Cam Derrick. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to West Side Christian Church Scholarship Fund, 535 Cherokee Road, Portsmouth, VA 23701.
