It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Nelson Sr. of Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Nelson and Hattie Nelson; his daughter Francine Nelson; and his grandson Vernon Montel Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Raymond "Buster" Nelson Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA, Frazer "Nitty" Nelson of Mechanicsville, MD, Carlton "Parwee" Nelson of Portsmouth, VA, Valita "Kip" Nelson of Portsmouth, VA and Shawn "Geedy" Nelson (Iris) of Fredericksburg, VA.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
