He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Cofer and Eleanor "Sparky" Cofer; and his siblings, Kay Iavarone and John P. Cofer. He is survived by: his wife Karan Cofer; his sisters, Judy Mays (Ricky) and Sue Cofer (Jim); his nephew Johnny Mays (Jenn); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Riley and Parker Mays; his niece Gina Iavarone Essa (John); his great-nephew Jack Essa; his brother-in-law Joe Iavarone; his brother David "Bubba" Johnston; Mary Rivers (Phillip).
