It is with sadness that the passing of Thomas E. Martin of Portsmouth, Virginia is shared. Thomas passed away on September 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Bloxom Martin and Woodrow Elma Martin; and his son-in-law Joseph Patrick Bambery. He is survived by: his wife Ellen R. Martin; his children, Robin M. Howorka (Gary), David Martin and Sue M. Bambery; his great grandchild Drue Longo; and his brothers, Douglas Martin of Phoenix, Arizona, Lynn Martin (Virginia) of Richmond and Mark Martin (Virginia) of Windsor. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who knew him as a loving uncle.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Loving Funeral Home Churchland Chapel (3225 Academy Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23703). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Tommy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, supporting its mission to advance research and provide care and support to those living with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
