He was predeceased by: his parents, Barksdale Easley Gravitt and Alease Wright Fraser; and his brother Ronnie Gravitt. He is survived by: his wife Helen Hoffmann Gravitt; his children, Dana Bevington (Dennis Bevington) and Michael Gravitt (Amy Beatty); his sister Kathryn Ann Gravitt (Vivian J. Paige); his grandchildren, Casey Simpson-Hasey (Dave Hasey) and Tyler Bevington; and his great grandchild Caelyn Hasey.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
