He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Richard Marshall, Sr. and Lockie Baker Marshall; and his brothers, Ronald Dean Marshall and Cecil Edward "Ed" Marshall. He is survived by: his wife Carla H. Marshall; his sons, Elbert "Kit" Richard Marshall III (Melanie) of Grover, John Wesley Marshall (Lindsay) of Marshville and James "Jay" Gilbert Harless II (Kim) of Alexandria, Virginia; his grandchildren, Ben Harless (Emily) of Asheboro, Jadon Marshall, Mason, Hazley, Oaklyn, Rylee and Peyton; his great grandchild Declan; his nieces, Kimberly Mullins (Roderick) and Gina Bolling (Tim); his great-niece Sarah Bolling Hogan (Dan); his great-nephews, Andrew Mullins (Andrea) and Seth Bolling; Afton, Adeline, Scarlet and Raylin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pound Historical Society.
