We are sad to announce that, on September 14, 2025, Ione LEE SHEPPARD Sturgill (Pound, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Roy L. "Tucker" Sturgill; her parents, Oscar Sheppard and Beulah Sheppard (Meade); and her siblings, Lana Carol Stidham, Grace Ann Sheppard and Lawrence Sheppard.
She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Fleming; her son-in-law Brian Fleming; her granddaughter Haylee Fleming; her sister Babrbara Kendrick; her nieces, Margaret Fleming and Susan Gearhardt; and her great-niece Savannah Gearhardt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wise County Humane Society or Tri State Animal Rescue.
